Do you have a baby shower to attend in the future? Or maybe you’re having a little one of your own? Here’s a sweet crib mobile that uses pretty vintage prints, beads, and even ribbon if you have it. The steps are simple, especially if you have a sewing machine. Ready? Let’s get started!<\/p>\n

Gather Your Supplies Together<\/h2>\n

For this project you will need: <\/p>\n

  • A hoop (wooden embroidery hoops work well)<\/li>\n
  • Ribbon and string<\/li>\n
  • Beads (optional)<\/li>\n
  • Pretty vintage fabric<\/li>\n
  • Sewing machine<\/li>\n
  • Scissors<\/li>\n
  • Pen and disk shape to trace (like a cup or jar)<\/li>\n
  • Adhesive iron-on backing<\/li>\n
  • Prepare Circles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This mobile is made from little disks of fabric that are stuck together with adhesive. You will need to use a cup or jar to trace circles (as many as you would like, we suggest 50) onto both the fabric and the adhesive. Next, cut the circles out. Iron on a piece of adhesive to each disc of fabric. Next, remove the adhesive’s backing, and sandwich two discs of fabric together, with a ribbon in between. Repeat this step until you have about five circles of fabric per string. Use your sewing machine to stitch a straight line down the ribbon and fabric. <\/p>\n

    Assemble Mobile<\/h2>\n

    Now you are ready to put it all together. Loop the ribbons (with fabric already attached) around the hoop, so that they fall down in a pleasing way. Attach string to the top of the hoop, giving you a way to fasten the mobile to the ceiling. This would be a place where you could use beads if you choose!<\/p>\n
